Our controller has two methods of communicating to the Oelo app on your iPhone or Android device. Our controller produces its very own WiFi network that you can connect your smart device to, which is the default mode for Oelo. The second, and preferred method, would be to connect the Oelo controller to your secure, personal WiFi network. As long as your device is connected to the same network as the Oelo controller, you will be able to control your lighting system.

Yes. We are constantly updating and upgrading the Oelo app, as well as the Oelo controller. If your controller is connected to your personal WiFi we can update it to the newest and most advanced software available.

Our lights are IP68-rated, meaning they can be full submersed in water. We’ve even frozen them in ice to prove their durability.

1. Stand next to your control box. 2. Unplug the box for 15 seconds and then plug it back in. 2A. If blue light turns solid, Factory Reset the box following the Troubleshooting section of our website. 2B. If the blue light changes from a slow flash to a fast flash,c ontinue to the next step. 3. Open the Oelo Evolution app. 4. Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner. 5. Select "Add Controller" and follow the on screen prompts. 6. If you performed Step 2A (Factory Reset), be sure to update your Controller Settings afterward.

Many routers try to “band steer” devices between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The Oelo Evolution control box must stay on 2.4 GHz. Contact your Internet Service Provider and ask how to: 1. Create a dedicated 2.4 GHz network, or 2. Ensure your router broadcasts a separate 2.4 GHz channel. Note: If you Factory Reset the Control Box and use the Add Controller button to connect to a new network, this usually stops frequent disconnections.

Your network might only be broadcasting in 5 GHz, which the control box cannot use. Ask your ISP to help you enable or set up a 2.4 GHz network.

1. Unplug the control box for 1 minute. 2. Plug it back in. 3. Watch the blue network light. The following light indicators signal the following: Solid Blue = Successfully Connected; Fast Flashing Blue = Needs Setup. If it needs setup, 3A. Open the app. 3B. Start the Add Controller wizard in Settings menu(gear); 3C. Follow the prompts.

Schedules are stored on the server and will retry for 15 minutes if your box is offline. If the box reconnects after that 15 minute window, you’ll need to turn your lights on manually for that day. Your schedules will automatically resume at their next scheduled time.

Make sure the start time is in the future. Example: If it’s 6:05 PM and you create a schedule for 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, it will not turn on immediately. It will start the next night at 6:00 PM.

No. Schedules are not shared between accounts, so it’s best to share a single account to ensure both of you can see and manage all schedules.

Check that they have already created an Oelo Evolution account with that exact e-mail, and that there are no typos in the e-mail you entered.

Tap "Forgot Password" on the login screen. You will receive an email with a new password. IMPORTANT: Only tap "Send" once. The email can take up to 30 minutes to arrive. If you send multiple requests, each new email will invalidate the previous password, which can cause login issues.

When creating a custom pattern, you can adjust each LED in the pattern using the dimmer bar to the left of the color wheel.
